Tuva Råwall Debuts with Single “Håll andan” after Idol Victory

Swedish singer Tuva Råwall, who captivated audiences during her journey on Idol 2025, has taken her first steps into the music industry with the release of her debut single “Håll andan” on May 22, 2026. The song marks a significant moment for Råwall as it arrives shortly after her victory in the popular TV competition and at a significant turning point in her personal life.

“Håll andan” (“Hold Your Breath”) was co-written by Tuva Råwall soon after her Idol win, in collaboration with established songwriters Jade Ell and Joakim Buddee. Both Ell and Buddee have worked with a variety of notable Swedish artists, including Ida-Lova and Olivia Lobato. The song, Råwall explains, reflects on the feeling that time often moves too quickly and the challenge of navigating major changes in life. It is a theme that resonates strongly with her current experiences.

In a statement accompanying the release, Råwall describes how she finds herself in a period of intense transition—finishing secondary school in June, while simultaneously launching her career as a recording artist. This period, she says, has influenced both the writing and emotional tone of the track: "You want to make the most of everything happening, but you don’t always have time to enjoy it. I really feel that now, as I’m both finishing school and starting something completely new."

Born and raised in Partille, just outside Gothenburg, Råwall has been immersed in music from a young age. Her background includes experience in choir singing, musical theater, and stage performances, which helped shape her unique artistic voice. During Idol 2025, she became one of the season's most talked-about contestants, eventually winning the competition and capturing the attention of the national audience.

Musically, Råwall positions herself within the indie pop genre, placing a strong emphasis on the lyrical content of her songs. Her music–including this debut single—draws on influences from acclaimed Swedish artists such as Håkan Hellström and Veronica Maggio, both known for their poetic lyricism and emotional storytelling. Råwall’s own writing aims to deliver a sense of authenticity and relatability that connects listeners to her personal journey.

Looking ahead to the summer of 2026, Tuva Råwall is set to perform on the Diggiloo tour, one of Sweden’s most popular concert series, which will give fans nationwide an opportunity to experience her music live. At the same time, she continues working in the studio, with plans to release more new songs over the course of the year.

While it is still early to gauge the public and critical response to “Håll andan,” Råwall’s debut marks the beginning of what promises to be a dynamic and evolving career. Her transition from television talent show winner to professional artist is notable for its personal resonance and musical ambition, making her one of the emerging names to watch on the Swedish pop scene in 2026.
