The Rolling Stones Announce New Album "Foreign Tongues" for July 2026 Release

The Rolling Stones are set to release their latest studio album, "Foreign Tongues," on July 10, 2026, through Polydor/Universal Music Group. This new project comes after the group’s previous record, "Hackney Diamonds," which achieved global chart success and earned a Grammy Award, reaffirming the band’s enduring relevance in contemporary music.
"Foreign Tongues" features a collection of 14 tracks that were captured during an intense, creative recording process at London’s Metropolis Studios. The entire album was produced in less than a month, guided by producer Andrew Watt, who once again joins the Stones after his work on "Hackney Diamonds." The members of the band highlight the energetic London atmosphere and swift progress in the studio, underscoring their continued dynamism more than six decades into their career.
The first taste of the upcoming album arrives on May 5, 2026, with the digital release of the single "In the Stars." Paired with it is the album's opening track, "Rough and Twisted," which has previously been released as a limited-edition vinyl under the pseudonym "The Cockroaches." A physical version of the "In the Stars" single will follow on May 15, 2026, offering fans a tangible keepsake before the full album arrives.
"Foreign Tongues" promises not just a collection of new songs, but a gathering of musical icons. The album is set to include guest appearances from celebrated musicians such as Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith, and Chad Smith. Moreover, the recording includes a special contribution from the Stones' late drummer, Charlie Watts, who appears on one track laid down during one of his final studio sessions in 2021. These collaborations suggest an album rich in both heritage and fresh artistic perspectives, though specific details about the roles of each guest remain undisclosed.
Visually, "Foreign Tongues" is complemented by cover art created by American artist Nathaniel Mary Quinn. His involvement brings a new dimension to the project, described as an artistic dialogue with one of the most influential bands in music history.
The album will be available in an array of formats, including CD, cassette, various vinyl editions—both standard and limited-color pressings—and exclusive collector’s box sets. This wide selection caters to fans and collectors alike, continuing the Stones' tradition of making their music accessible across generations and physical media preferences.
With "Foreign Tongues," The Rolling Stones once again push artistic boundaries, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to evolving their sound and engaging with both their legacy and the contemporary music world. Even after more than 60 years of performance, the anticipation around their new material suggests that their creative voice is as strong as ever.
