LiM Sextet Presents Coldplay Unplugged: A 2026 Autumn Tour with a Chamber Twist

Swedish ensemble LiM-sextetten is preparing to take the stage in a unique fashion in the autumn of 2026, unveiling its concert series 'The music of Coldplay – unplugged.' Starting on September 26 in Ystad, the tour will continue with stops in Kristianstad and Vara, promising reinterpretations of some of Coldplay's most iconic tracks through the lens of chamber music.

The concept behind the performances centers on artistic reinterpretations and novel arrangements of Coldplay’s repertoire, with selections including favorites like “Viva la Vida” and “Fix You.” Instead of the band’s signature pop-rock soundscapes, these songs will come alive through the acoustic textures of a string quartet, piano, and vocals. By utilizing this instrumentation, the ensemble aims to highlight the emotional core and grandeur of Coldplay’s music, while also emphasizing its intimacy in a stripped-down, acoustic setting.

LiM-sextetten consists of accomplished musicians: Josefine Fritsell takes the spotlight as the lead vocalist, supported by Per Drougge and Annie Svedlund on violins, Märta Eriksson on viola, Oskar Valeberg on cello, and Daniel Jarl, who not only handles piano duties but is also responsible for the innovative arrangements. The collaborative approach of these musicians allows for a fresh perspective on well-known songs, bringing both subtlety and dramatic flair to the setlist.

This tour reflects the ensemble’s ongoing exploration of pop and electronic music in an acoustic chamber format. Since its establishment in 2023, LiM-sextetten has performed roughly 30 concerts nationwide, with previous programs focusing on the music of Avicii, Coldplay, and Laleh. Their adaptability and inventive programming have quickly become trademarks, consistently drawing audiences eager to experience familiar music in an unfamiliar sound world.

The upcoming tour is supported and produced by H.I.P.E. Music AB, an organization with over fifteen years of experience in Swedish concert and show production. This partnership ensures a high level of professionalism and logistical support, contributing to the tour’s anticipated success. Tickets are made available through H.I.P.E. Music’s channels, enabling fans from across Sweden to secure their places early for these autumn evenings.

While the complete list of tour stops and detailed repertoire for the concerts are not yet fully disclosed, and there is no information on guest artists or further development of the concept beyond 2026, the three currently announced dates mark significant opportunities for audiences in Skåne and Västra Götaland to witness this intersection of pop and chamber music. 'The music of Coldplay – unplugged' promises to offer listeners both the intensity and the depth of Coldplay's catalogue, reshaped with classical nuance.
