Converge, the legendary metalcore band from Massachusetts, has recently announced their second album for 2026, "Hum of Hurt," set to be released on June 5 via Deathwish Inc. and Epitaph Records. This album follows their previous release, "Love Is Not Enough," which came out on February 13, 2026. The band has also released a video for the title track, inspired by the real-world phenomenon known as "The Hum" – a low-frequency sound reported in various parts of the world.

Vocalist Jacob Bannon reflected on the concept behind "Hum of Hurt": "What if 'The Hum' is the culmination of all the pain in the world, creating an audible signal across the universe? Something noticeable to others operating on a similar emotional plane." He continued to describe how, during the writing process, the band realized they had created two separate albums and treated them accordingly.

The album is recorded and mixed by Kurt Ballou at God City Studios in Salem, Massachusetts, capturing Converge at another deliberate and dynamic moment – both ferocious and deeply human. Each song hits with precision and purpose, starting with the explosive title track. "Hum of Hurt" is an album that distills the band's restless evolution into a singular, commanding statement. It is both a reckoning and a renewal – proof that after 35 years together, Converge remains one of the most vital and uncompromising forces in modern music.

The album's tracklist is as follows:

1. Slip the Noose
2. Doom in Bloom
3. It Only Gets Worse
4. Detonator
5. I Won't Let You Go
6. It's Not Up to Us
7. Dream Debris
8. It Used to Matter
9. Hum of Hurt
10. Nothing Is Over

For fans who want a physical copy of the album, there are several options. An exclusive edition of "Hum of Hurt" on "Ghost" vinyl (limited to 500 copies) with an exclusive album wrap designed by Bannon himself is available for pre-order. This edition includes a 19" x 25" silkscreen wrap printed on 3-layer Mirror Silver by Nightswim Project.

For those who prefer the CD format, a standard edition of "Hum of Hurt" is available for pre-order.

With "Hum of Hurt," Converge continues to explore and challenge the boundaries of heavy music, and fans can expect an album that is both powerful and introspective. With their unique blend of metalcore, hardcore punk, and sludge metal, the band has continued to influence and inspire within the music world.
