Broken Social Scene, the Canadian indie-rock collective renowned for its expansive sound and collaborative spirit, has recently released their new single "Hey Amanda". This track is part of their forthcoming album "Remember the Humans", scheduled for release on May 8, 2026, via Arts & Crafts. The album marks the band's first studio release in nearly a decade and reunites them with producer David Newfeld, who previously worked with them on "You Forgot It in People" (2002) and their self-titled 2005 album. Newfeld's production is described as perfectly suiting the chaos of the band's songwriting, with a contagious childlike energy. Charles Spearin, a member of the band, mentions that Newfeld's enthusiasm is like that of a little boy when he loves a piece of music.

"Remember the Humans" features 12 tracks, including the recently released single "Hey Amanda". The album explores themes of feeling overwhelmed by modern life while experiencing a sense of disorientation. The tracks on the album are:

1. Not Around Anymore
2. Only The Good I Keep
3. Mission Accomplished (Kingfisher)
4. The Call
5. Relief
6. And I Think Of You
7. This Briefest Kiss
8. Life Within The Ground
9. Hey Amanda
10. Paying For Your Love
11. What Happens Now
12. Parking Lot Dreams

In addition to the album release, Broken Social Scene has also announced an extensive North American tour alongside Metric and Stars. The tour, titled "All the Feelings Tour", begins on June 8 in Austin, Texas, and concludes on August 7 in Toronto. During this tour, the band will perform both new and old favorites, including "Hey Amanda".

For fans looking to delve into the band's earlier work, there is also a tribute album to their classic "You Forgot It in People". This album, titled "Anthems: A Celebration of Broken Social Scene's You Forgot It in People", was released on June 6, 2025, and features covers by artists such as Maggie Rogers and Sylvan Esso.

With "Hey Amanda" and the upcoming album "Remember the Humans", Broken Social Scene demonstrates that they remain a force to be reckoned with in the indie-rock genre, and fans are looking forward to hearing more of their unique sound and collaborative spirit.
