Opening nights at Gröna Lund always carry a certain buzz—and May 2, 2026 was no exception. When KAJ took the stage to launch this year’s concert season, they did so with confidence and a clear sense of purpose.

Despite it being early May, the weather felt almost like summer, drawing a surprisingly large crowd. And KAJ made sure to make the most of it from the very first moment. People were dancing, laughing, and singing along to songs that blend humor with undeniably catchy melodies.

Throughout 2026, KAJ have clearly refined their live performance. The pacing is tight, the timing is sharp, and their interaction with the audience feels both natural and effortless. It’s evident that they’ve grown as a live act—everything flows in a way that keeps the crowd engaged from start to finish.

They also introduce new material during the set, which is warmly received and quickly finds its place among the crowd favorites. There’s a strong sense that several of their songs could easily become summer anthems.

Even though I’m still not entirely sold on comedy in musical form—it can feel a bit unusual at times—it’s hard to deny how well it works in this setting. The audience absolutely loves it, and that energy is contagious, whether you expect it or not.

“Bara bada bastu”, the track that won at Grammisgalan, stands out as one of the evening’s biggest moments. The entire venue turns into one massive singalong. Sure, the song may be starting to feel slightly overplayed, but live, it still hits exactly where it needs to thanks to the crowd’s enthusiasm.

This is a night driven more by feeling than perfection—by joy, energy, and shared experience. And in that sense, KAJ hit the mark perfectly.

The opening night at Gröna Lund 2026 was a strong start to the concert season—and even if I’m not completely convinced by the concept, it’s hard not to get swept up in it.

It’s simply a lot of fun.
