The journey towards this album began in May 2025 with the single "Hitta någon," a song capturing the feeling of loneliness and the hope of finding love. It was followed by "Slott av luft," "Gudarna," and "Crazy," all well-received by critics and fans alike. In February 2026, "Yasins bön" was released, a collaboration with artist Yasin, integrating verses from the Quran, giving the song a deeper spiritual dimension.

Musically, Välkommen hem traverses between soul, pop, and poetic ballads, with influences from both Swedish folk music and modern production. Seinabo Sey has taken full control of the production, resulting in a cohesive and well-thought-out album. Her voice takes center stage, conveying a sense of closeness and authenticity.

To celebrate the album release, Seinabo Sey embarks on an extensive concert hall tour during the fall of 2026. The tour kicks off on October 1 in Copenhagen and concludes on December 5 in Skellefteå, with stops at prestigious venues such as the Stockholm Concert Hall and Stora Teatern in Gothenburg. Tickets go on sale on March 16 and are expected to sell out quickly.
